How do I adopt a WISH list?
WISH launches on Tuesday, November 1st, 2022. Adopters (Holiday Heroes) can register to adopt by visiting www.besa.org/wish.
Can I adopt more than one WISH list?
Yes, you can adopt multiple WISH lists. However, these individuals depend on your support, and we want to ensure they have a joyful holiday season. We kindly ask that you only adopt the number of WISH lists that fit your budget. Keep in mind that on average, a gift request is around $45.
I work for a company, and we’d like to participate in this year’s gift drive.
Can we make a financial contribution or adopt WISH lists for our associates?
We love when companies participate! And financial contributions help us grow the WISH program each year. If you’re interested in donating or would like to learn more about company participation, please email us at wish@besa.org.
I adopted a WISH list. What’s next?
Once your WISH adoption has been confirmed, you’ll receive an email with instructions and next steps.
My senior’s WISH list contains multiple gifts. Do I need to buy all of them?
No. We ask seniors to provide a robust list with varied price points. You may choose to purchase all of the items lists or only the item(s) that fit within your budget. Keep in mind that the average gift is $45.
My senior is requesting something small, and I would like to include more. Any suggestions?
Some great additional items to include with your gift are hats, scarves, blankets and hand lotions.
My senior is requesting a gift card, but I’d really like to purchase an item. Any suggestions?
Gift cards are a great way to empower seniors to shop and purchase items on their own. Some seniors also request gift cards to share lunch or dinner out at a restaurant with friends or family. Your gift card will make an impact!
I can no longer purchase for my senior(s). What should I do?
If you are no longer able to participate, we kindly ask that you contact us at wish@besa.org immediately so we can find coverage. While we understand unforeseen circumstances, these individuals are relying on support from the program.
When and where do I drop off my gift(s)?
All gifts must be dropped off at Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging at 3776 S. High St., Columbus, OH 43207 during the following times:
- Friday, December 2nd from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Saturday, December 3rd from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
- Sunday, December 4th from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Unfortunately, there are no late exceptions to ensure gifts are delivered during the holiday season.
Can I drop off gift(s) early?

Are there health and safety protocols for gift drop off?
We’re committed to providing a healthy drop-off for all of our guests. We will adhere to applicable public health guidelines determined by federal, state or local government agencies at the time of the event. We will update health and safety information closer to the event.
My senior has requested an item I can’t find online or in-store. What should I do?
We encourage you to use your best judgment to identify a suitable replacement. We’re sure that they’ll love whatever you choose! If you need help, please email our Winter Wonderland team at wish@besa.org.
Can I include a note or card with my gift?
Of course! Our senior friends love to receive gifts with a personal touch. To protect the privacy of you and the senior, we kindly ask that you do not include contact information, such as your phone number or email address.
I participated previously and would like to adopt the same senior’s WISH list. Is that possible?
We do our best to accommodate all requests. However, because of the large number of seniors that participate in the program, we cannot guarantee that you'll be matched with a specific senior.
My senior’s gift request costs more than I can afford. What should I do?
We completely understand and are happy to identify a more suitable request to meet your budget. Please email our Winter Wonderland team at wish@besa.org as soon as possible.
Can I meet my senior or drop off my gift to them?
Due to privacy and HIPAA laws, this is not possible.
I’d like to add items to my senior’s gift. Is that ok?
Yes! Do you craft or sew? Seniors love handmade gifts! If you’re planning to include food items, please be sure they are new, packaged and non-perishable.
What information is required on my gift box for drop-off?
Secure the label provided at www.besa.org/winterwonderland.
Be sure to include:
- Senior’s Name
- Client Number
- Program Letter
- Case Manager Name
- Donor Code
I didn’t get to adopt a WISH list, but I still want to help.
WISH is Besa’s most popular event, and senior WISH lists are adopted quickly! We apologize you weren’t able to participate, but seniors would still be grateful for your love and support! Once all seniors have been adopted, we’ll launch Besa’s Amazon WISH list, where you can purchase much-needed items that are shipped directly to senior agency partners.
I believe I qualify for gifts, or I would like to have a senior included in the program.
